Five students and five faculty and staff volunteered at Rosie’s Place in Boston as part of the Community Service Center’s Fridays of Service program. The BSU crew prepared and served lunch at the shelter, which since 1974 has provided a sanctuary for women and children experiencing poverty and homelessness.
“It is important to connect with others from all different backgrounds, experiences and means," said one of the volunteers. "It centers you with compassion, humbles you with knowledge and education, and certainly makes you grateful and appreciative.
