The university hosted the sixth annual Campus MovieFest Finale which was attended by more than 550 members of the BSU community. Students, faculty, staff and families gathered to enjoy 16 short films created by students, each filmed and edited in a week.
 
Campus MovieFest is a national event where students are supplied with the materials necessary to make a 5-minute film. Winners from each school are sent to Hollywood to compete against winners from institutions across the U.S.
 
This year more than 1,200 students, comprising 93 teams, participated in the movie making process – the largest BSU Moviefest to date.
 
“I’m continuously impressed by the passion, talents and skills of our student filmmakers and appreciate the support and partnerships the Campus Center has in making this event such a huge success each year,” said Ed Cabellon, director of the RCC.
 
This year’s winners who will represent BSU in Hollywood include:
Best Picture: “i 4 i,” directed my Melissa Ellard ’14
Best Drama:  “Wishbone,” directed by Mac Capen ’14
Best Comedy: “Brain Congress,” directed by Travis Garlick ’15
