In “Looking Up,” his current exhibition at the Anderson Gallery, Professor Collin Asmus combines both the old and new to produce compelling images from that vast expanse above. As he puts it: “I am interested in how contemporary viewing technologies help shape our understanding of our surroundings. In this body of work, I am using current telescope and astrophotography technologies with more traditional painting and drawing methods to depict images of the sky, our solar system and deep space celestial objects."
