The Honors Program offers high-achieving students the chance to join a learning community dedicated to a rigorous, independent study. In our small classes, our program cultivates intellectual curiosity, open-mindedness, and exceptional personal and professional experiences. In building community, promoting social justice, and encouraging academic excellence, honors students become role models for honors and non-honors students.

Bridgewater State University supports the mission of the Honors Program through Commonwealth Honors and Departmental Honors.
The Honors Program offers incentives and resources to enable students to achieve their highest potential as scholars and campus leaders. The Honors Program curriculum promotes close student-faculty relationships and fosters the vigorous and thorough exchange of ideas so that students develop the investigative, analytical, and creative skills necessary for scholarly research and artistic work. Honors students are provided with leadership opportunities that empower them to build community, promote social justice, and model academic excellence. The core values of the Honors Program are closely aligned with the values of the university.
