Engagement & Outreach
One of our primary goals as a university is to serve as a transformative resource as well as a facilitator of reciprocal partnerships within our regional, national and global communities. Bridgewater encourages and supports civic and international engagement, strategic collaborations, public service programs and a variety of outreach measures, all of which emphasize and strengthen our relationship to our region and the wider world around us.
As members of a global society, we are responsible for educating ourselves
about issues and conflicts abroad. Bridgewater’s Middle East International
Conference is an example of an event that helps further our understanding.
Creative partnerships between Bridgewater and local institutions like the
Bridgewater Credit Union enhance the BSU educational experience while
supporting the surrounding community.
Bridgewater demonstrates its institution-wide commitment to social justice
through staff and student volunteer activities at local nonprofit establishments
such as GiftsToGive in New Bedford.
