Admitted Student Information Sessions

These information sessions are for our admitted students and their families. We will address those questions that you may have before making your final decision whether to attend Bridgewater State University and submit your tuition deposit by the National Notification Date (May 1). Financial Aid, on-campus housing and what to expect next should you deposit will all be covered. The session will conclude with a student-guided campus tour.

Admitted Student Checklist

This checklist for admitted students will help you keep track of what to expect and the things you’ll need to do prior to beginning your studies at Bridgewater.

January

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) begins January 1 for 2014-2015

March

  • FAFSA deadline March 1 for 2014-2015

April

  • Notification of admission decision by April 15
  • Claim BSU User Account with information found on your acceptance letter

May

  • Deposits for accepted first-year students must be made by May 1
  • Information regarding how to contract for housing is mailed to students accepted with housing who met the May 1 deposit date

June

  • Orientation sessions for first-year students
  • After orientation, students accepted with housing need to complete their Residence Hall Agreement, Roommate Questionnaire and select a meal plan
  • Full-time students submit immunizations and Health & Counseling form
  • New residential students must submit meningitis status (vaccination or waiver) before moving in
  • High school must submit final transcript to the Office of Admission as soon as it becomes available (including date of graduation); this must be received before the start of classes in September

July

  • Students without on-campus housing who wish to live on campus can add their name to the Housing Waiting List by July 1
  • Fall semester billing via BSU Student Account Suite
  • Room assignment, roommate information available mid-July, emailed to student BSU email accounts
  • Wait List numbers posted in mid-July

August

  • Complete placement testing in English and mathematics prior to orientation
  • Orientation sessions for first-year students
  • Orientation sessions for transfer students

September

  • Welcome Week events
  • First-year resident students move in the weekend before the first day of classes
  • Full- and three-quarter-time students must submit proof of health insurance (online waiver) by September 15
  • Full- and three-quarter-time students without insurance may enroll online in the BSU-sponsored student health plan by September 15
